AESICS-CSI Student Branch received Best Student Branch Award for 2008-09 |

AESICS-CSI Student Branch received the best student branch award for the fourth time in Region-III (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh) for the year 2008-09. The award was received by the branch during CSI-2009, 44th annual convention held in Pune from October 8-10, 2009. The student branch has also received the same award (Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh) for 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2007-08.
Mr Aditya B. Patel, Asst. Professor and AESICS-CSI Branch counselor congratulated the members of the branch. He gave the credit of the award to the direction and guidance of Mr. Bipin Mehta, Director, AESICS and support from faculty members and students. Mr. Aditya B. Patel, on behalf of the student branch also acknowledged the support of Mr. K K Patel, Hon. Treasurer, CSI-Ahmedabad Chapter and Asst. Professor, AESICS and Mr. Vinay Vachharajani, MC Member, CSI-Ahmedabad Chapter and lecturer, AESICS.
CSI Student Branch at AESICS was inaugurated on 13 March, 2004. Currently, the student branch has 130+ student members, 9 Institutional members and more than 20 faculty members.

25th National Student Convention, Coimbatore Chapter by members of AESICS - CSI Student Branch |

The student members of AESICS - CSI student branch participated in the 25th National Student Convention hosted by Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore on the 24th and 25th of September 2009. The theme of the convention was “Technology-led Inclusive Growth”. 16 MCA students accompanied by Prof. Vinay Vachharajani, attended the convention.
The event started on 24th by an inaugural ceremony which was inaugurated by Mr. Bipin Mehta, Hon Secretary, CSI . The event was attended by Mr. Ranga Rajagopal Chairman of Coimbatore Chapter, Dr. S. Thangaswamy Dean - Computer Science, KCT, Dr. H.R. Vishwakarma National Student Coordinator, CSI, WGg CDr Murugesan, Director (Education) CSI, Ms. Mini Ulanat Regional Student Coordinator, Region 7, CSI, Mr. A. Sivibalan , Hon Secretary , CSI Coimbatore Chapter.
Several events like Paper Presentation, Debugging, Project Presentation, Quiz, Best Manager and Web Designing were organized. The Convention received a huge response from different colleges of different states. Nearly 130 papers were presented from various tracks. 30 projects were presented which brought out different and some amazing ideas from students. Students also showed their skills in Best Manager where they had to work on real life situations and take decisions. Technical sessions and industry workshops on some interesting areas like IT innovations for social transformation, Green IT, Communication Technologies and 11th Five year plan by experts in these areas who represented the industry and academia.
Cultural events were arranged in which KCT students performed regional folk dances, sang songs and AESICS students presented their famous folk dance, Garba.
The Convention ended by prize distribution. The Chairman of CSI Coimbatore Chapter Ranga Rajagopal gave an overview of the event.
