About Ahmedabad University

• AHMEDABAD UNIVERSITY is promoted by Ahmedabad Education Society, which was established in 1935 with inspiration from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister of India, and by visionaries which include Sheth Kasturbhai Lalbhai and Shri Ganesh Vasudev Mavlankar. It runs ten colleges, eleven schools and other academic institutes, each of which has a leading position in Gujarat.
• The vision of Ahmedabad University is to be a temple of higher learning engaged in gathering, generating, storing and disseminating knowledge relevant to the societal needs, offering multi-disciplinary programs to students emphasizing their all round development.
• AHMEDABAD UNIVERSITY is a Private University established on 24th July 2009 under Section 3 of The Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 and is empowered to award degrees as specified by UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act.
